WELCOME! :)

🦅 Welcome to Atmautluak, Alaska — Home of the Mighty Falcons!

Nestled along the scenic Pitmiktakik River in southwest Alaska, Atmautluak is a vibrant Yup’ik village rich in culture, community, and tradition. Known for its strong family ties and deep respect for the land and water, the village thrives through a lifestyle connected to subsistence fishing, berry picking, and seasonal hunting.

At the heart of this close-knit community stands Joann A. Alexie Memorial School (JAAMS) â€” home of the Mighty Falcons! Our students take pride in blending traditional knowledge with modern learning, from hands-on cultural projects to STEM-based innovation like our school hydroponic garden, which grows fresh lettuce right in the Arctic tundra.

JAAMS serves students from preschool through 12th grade, offering a full range of academics, athletics, and cultural enrichment programs. Whether competing on the volleyball court, participating in community events, or engaging in Native Youth Olympics, our Falcons soar with pride, perseverance, and heart.
